Senior Ruby Engineer (2)

Job Type: Full-time

Job Location: Las Vegas, NV

About the Team

The engineering team at FundAmerica creates and maintains tools and applications to facilitate the sale and transfer of private financial securities. We build the UI as well as the backing JSON APIs.

We’re a small (5 engineers), agile team with a strong focus on quickly shipping MVPs and iterating later after market adoption of the feature/product. Regardless of who you are on the engineering team, you will contribute and have a big impact on the final product from day one. If you’re a self-starter who doesn’t need a lot of supervision and enjoys taking on responsibility, you’ll find a home on our team.

Your primary role will be working on our API. You’ll be helping to create and maintain a set of APIs that are used to process over $300M of transactions a year. In addition to moving funds, our products also help keep track stock ownerships and bank balances.

Working on the API, you’ll have the ability to work on the core of the company that both our partners and our own interfaces rely on. We are looking for engineers who have a passion for building scalable products, strong software design skills, and a desire to disrupt financial markets. You’ll be reporting directly to our Chief Engineer.

About FundAmerica

Our Mission

The enormous opportunity created by the JOBS Act is leading to an explosion of firms emerging to operate funding portals, aka “platforms.” FundAmerica’s mission is to provide FinTech to the crowdfunding industry and deliver the highest value to our customers. Additionally, we plan to expand into other areas of service to the industry.

Our Software

The software is designed and written by full-time FundAmerica engineers (not overseas contractors) using Ruby on Rails. It will enable you to legally and efficiently help businesses get funded. It allows you to accelerate your business model by leveraging our easy-to-implement tools for some of the most complicated back-office pieces of the fundraising process.

We created our software to enable comprehensive self-service use of our tools and technology. Simply sign up and you can access our API’s, plug ‘n play widgets and web-based forms.

What We Do

Our services enable people to build our technology into their websites and platforms using API’s (Application Programming Interfaces) and embeddable apps (widgets), as well as direct-use forms on our site. We are initially providing backend services that the vast majority of market participants need and cannot do directly themselves, including:

  • Escrow
  • Broker-dealer services
  • Electronically signed and stored investor subscription agreements
  • Background checks for anti-money laundering and PATRIOT Act compliance
  • Payment processing

Required experience:

  • Ruby: 3 years
