Graphic Artist (intern position)

Job Type: Part-time (hours are flexible and can be arranged according to a student’s academic/work schedule)

You will work closely with the graphic design and marketing teams to create materials for both on and offline promotions. FundAmerica values our interns for their strong design sensibility and promotes their professional development during the term. Learn to meet daily, weekly, and long-term deadlines in a fast-paced environment. This position is responsible for updating brochures, bulletins, product specification sheets, web pages and other marketing collateral. Provide image support for marketing team members relating to internal, external and social media efforts.

  • Create graphics and design layouts for print ads, flyers, email newsletters, the FundAmerica website, blog, and social media accounts
  • Collaborate with the marketing department and support campaigns with design solutions
  • Incorporate UI/UX best practices in website design and layout, and adapt designs for responsive layouts
  • Create custom illustrations or other graphic elements as needed
  • Work with marketing in web product and application imagery
  • Assist creative team in web and print applications
  • Work closely with creative marketing team to assist in concept and completion of web sections
  • Assist in the development of custom coded web pages and online tools
  • Support of brand and identity guidelines as well as make recommendations for changes as needed

Skills & Requirements

Skills (essential):

  • Must have ability to design marketing materials in above programs
  • Must have the ability to create and prepare artwork for custom software production
  • Must be creative, resourceful, able to think independently and capable of working on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Must develop and execute creative solutions to assigned tasks
  • Must have the ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Must posses a solid understanding of current design programs
  • Must posses strong design style, including creative design solutions within the constraints of the Internet
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Team player, able to use initiative and possess good judgment, strong verbal and written communication and organizational skills

Required Experience:

  • Successful candidates will come to the role with a strong background in graphic arts
  • Comfort working in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, InDesign, Dreamweaver and Illustrator
  • Experience with HTML, CSS and Acrobat as well as working knowledge of Microsoft Office including PowerPoint
  • Enthusiasm for the design process and attentiveness to different project goals
  • Must be a student currently enrolled as a Junior or higher pursing a Bachelors or Master’s degree in Graphic Design or related degree
