The automated emails can now be customized!

As a company, we really value the feedback we get from our clients and take it to heart to improve our products. After countless requests and man hours of development, we’re excited to make the automatic emails to investors customizable! The following post will walk you through how the feature works and how to customize the emails on your offerings for more tailored communications with your investors.

The Basic Set Up

Emails can be edited at two different levels: the account defaults, and the emails for a specific offering. At the account level, you can make customizations to your emails that will impact all of your offerings (this means no need to make the same customization over and over again for every offering you create!) and you can change whether the email will be activated/deactivated for new offerings. At the offering level, you can customize the emails for just that offering and enable/disable the email for just that offering.

Setting the Account Default for All Offerings

If you want your customizations to apply for all the offerings on your account, you’ll want to customize the account default.

  1. Click on “Emails” in the main navigation bar.

  2. Click on “Automated Emails” – this will bring up a list of the emails that can be customized, when they’re sent, what template they’re using, and whether or not they’re active. The account template defaults to the FundAmerica created email.

  6. After you’re done editing, click the “Preview” button to see how it will look. The preview replaces the variables with filler information. If you see a %% in the preview, there’s an issue with your use of the variable.

FAQ

  • What’s with the templates?
Templates are essentially what the email will contain. There are three templates: FundAmerica Default – this is the template created by FundAmerica for this email, Account Customized – this is the template you edit at the account level, Offering Customized – this is the template that’s specific to just that offering. Set the email to the template you want to use.
  • What are the defaults?
Each email for every offering defaults to the account template and defaults to the activated/deactivated setting from the account. This means if you customize the account template, it will automatically impact all offerings! The account template defaults to a copy of the FundAmerica template so if you don’t do anything, it’ll send out the emails you’re used to.
